In the introduction to the Prayer Targets, Rev. Daniel Dorchester wrote about the “Patriotism of the Clergy” in the Colonial period. Historians largely agree that, had it not been for the patriot pastors, America could not have won the War for Independence. We believe that without the leadership of patriot pastors today, American will not remain the free republic it has been for 240 years. Dorchester spoke of “Politico-religious sermons.” It is precisely such sermons that will provide the instruction and guidance God’s people need today — a clarion trumpet call to address our culture. FRC’s on-site Prayer Team participated The Decision America Tour in Annapolis, Md. this week via live web-streaming. Over 3,600 believers crammed into Lawyers Square in front of the Maryland State House in Annapolis. Franklin Graham preached a simple, strong “politico-religious sermon” charging the attendees to pray, participate in the political system, to vote, and to run for office. He suggested that they could all participate in a meaningful way — by running for the school board, for instance. He then shared the simple gospel. At least 195 people responded to the gospel invitation for the first time in their lives! Just two more stops on the tour and Franklin and the team will have been to all 50 states: Richmond, Va. today and Raleigh, N.C. tomorrow. If you missed the event in your state, you can live stream the Raleigh event by visiting the event page and clicking the tiny, red “Watch Live” Icon in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. Please pray for the fruit of Graham’s 50-state tour to multiply a thousand-fold across our land and thus to impact the election on November 8th. Thank you for praying!
