God said to Solomon, “I will give you what you asked for! I will give you a wise and understanding heart such as no one else has had or ever will have! And I will also give you what you did not ask for—riches and fame! No other king in all the world will be compared to you for the rest of your life!” (1 Kings 3:12–13 NLT)
My 7-year-old Granddaughter, Macie and I, were riding along in the car. And as we would often do, we started to play a little game about how much we loved each other. Now, the object of the game was to try to out-do each other’s description of how strong our love truly was for each other. So after a couple of exchanges, I asked her, do you know how much I love you? And she answered, “How much?” I said, If someone told me I could have a million dollars or I could have you, I’d pick you and lose the million dollars.” She won the contest with her answer.
With a raised eyebrow, she smirked and said, “Well, that’s nice Pop, but you should have asked for BOTH.”
Oh, how God loves to surprise us with blessings we would never have thought to ask for! Spend some time now reflecting on the surprising gifts from your Father God. Give Him praise for being such a loving Father that gives His children even MORE than they could ever imagine! And Remember…He’s not finished surprising you!
“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” (Ephesians 3:20 NLT)
